Salmon Creamy Bake (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 400g of fresh salmon or smoked salmon.
02 - 600g of firm-fleshed potatoes.
03 - 200ml heavy cream.
04 - 100ml milk.
05 - 50g butter.
06 - 1 medium onion, finely chopped.
07 - 2 crushed garlic cloves.
08 - Chives or dill for garnish.
09 - Salt and pepper to taste.
10 - Grated cheese (parmesan or gruyère).
11 - Cooked spinach or leeks (optional).

# Instructions:

01 - Peel and chop potatoes into even chunks. Boil in salted water for about 20 minutes until softened. Drain, then mash with butter, milk, and cream. Add salt and pepper.
02 - Sauté garlic and onion in butter in a pan until softened and clear.
03 - Remove the skin and bones if using fresh salmon, then cut into chunks. Mix the salmon with the sautéed onion and garlic.
04 - Spread mashed potatoes over the salmon and veggies in a baking dish. Top with grated cheese.
05 - Place in a preheated oven at 200°C and bake for 25–30 minutes until golden. Optionally, broil to crisp the top.

01 - Swap cream for plain yogurt or almond milk for a lighter option.
02 - Serve alongside steamed veggies or a green salad.
03 - Pairs wonderfully with a light white wine like Sauvignon Blanc.
