Peel the onion and slice it thinly.

Wash the apples and slice them into quarters.

Wrap the bacon strips around the beef roast.

Use kitchen string to securely tie up the roast.

Warm up the olive oil in a cast-iron pot.

Add salt and pepper to the roast on all sides.

Put the roast in the pot and brown it over medium heat for 10 minutes.
