Prosciutto Pesto Cheese Sandwich (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Spread & Bread

01 - Two thick slices of crusty bread or sourdough
02 - Butter for slathering

→ Cheese and Meat

03 - Half a ball of fresh mozzarella
04 - A handful of shredded cheese (like mozzarella, cheddar, or gruyere)
05 - Three slices of prosciutto

→ Herbs and Spices

06 - A couple of tablespoons of fresh basil pesto
07 - Four or five fresh basil leaves
08 - Salt and pepper to your liking

# Instructions:

01 - Warm up a pan over low to medium heat. Butter one side of the first slice of bread, then lay it buttered side down on your counter.
02 - Start stacking the ingredients—put some shredded cheese, prosciutto, sliced mozzarella, pesto, and basil leaves on the bread. Sprinkle some salt and pepper, then cap it off with the second slice of bread. Don’t forget to butter the outer side of that top piece.
03 - Place the sandwich into the heated pan, letting it cook steadily for around five minutes on each side. You want a crispy crust with all the cheesy goodness melted inside.

# Notes:

01 - Mixing shredded and fresh cheese makes for the best oozy results
02 - Taking your time to cook over lower heat gives you that ideal crunchy exterior
03 - Swap cheeses based on what’s already in your fridge
