Cover baking sheets with parchment paper. Toss cereal into a microwaveable bowl and set aside.

In a large pan, stir together butter, corn syrup, sugar, and vanilla. Heat until bubbling, about 1.5-2 minutes, and stir constantly. Mix in baking soda and let it puff up.

Pour the caramel mix onto the cereal. Gently stir to coat. Microwave for 1 minute, stir again, and repeat three more times.

Spread on lined baking sheets. Sprinkle sea salt while it's warm. Let it cool down completely, then break into pieces.
