Slow Cooker Teriyaki Pork (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ For the sauce

01 - 1/2 cup (125ml) maple syrup or honey
02 - 1/2 cup (125ml) low-sodium soy sauce
03 - 1/4 cup (60ml) rice vinegar
04 - 1 tablespoon grated ginger
05 - Pepper to taste

→ For the meat

06 - 2 large pork tenderloins
07 - 2 minced garlic cloves
08 - 1 large onion, diced

→ For thickening the sauce

09 - 1/4 cup (60ml) cold water
10 - 3 tablespoons cornstarch

# Instructions:

01 - Cut the tenderloins into thick slices and line them up at the bottom of your slow cooker.
02 - Combine the garlic, onion, syrup, soy sauce, vinegar, ginger, and pepper in a bowl. Pour this mix over the pork.
03 - Cover the slow cooker and cook on low heat for about 8 to 10 hours.
04 - Take the pork out and shred it. Heat the sauce in a pot until it boils. Mix the cornstarch into the cold water and stir it into the hot sauce. Stir constantly until it thickens.
05 - Pour the sauce on top of the shredded pork. Either serve it right away or keep it warm in the slow cooker until mealtime.
