Candied Sweet Potatoes (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 5 to 6 average-sized sweet potatoes (around 3 to 4 pounds).
02 - Half a teaspoon of salt.
03 - 1/2 cup of butter, unsalted.
04 - 1 tablespoon of water.
05 - 1/4 cup of pure maple syrup.
06 - 1 cup packed brown sugar.
07 - 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon powder.
08 - 1/2 teaspoon powdered nutmeg.
09 - 1/2 teaspoon ginger powder.
10 - 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
11 - Optional: Zest of 2 oranges.
12 - Optional topping: fresh rosemary or flaky sea salt.

# Instructions:

01 - Peel and slice into 1/2 inch pieces. Spread in a greased 9x13 pan. Sprinkle with salt and mix.
02 - Melt butter, add water, sugar, syrup, and spices. Bring it to a boil for 2 minutes (don’t stir). Add vanilla and orange zest, if you'd like.
03 - Drizzle the sauce evenly over the potatoes. Bake 1 hour, stir every 20 minutes. Cover with foil after the first stir. Let cool for 10 minutes, uncovered.
