Put the sweet potato cubes into a big pot filled with salted water. Bring it to a boil, then cook them for 15-20 minutes, or until soft.

Drain the cooked sweet potatoes and place them back in the pot. Use a masher or immersion blender to mash them until smooth.

If needed, roughly chop the pre-cooked chestnuts. Toss them into the mashed potatoes and stir well.

Mix in the vegetable broth and butter. Add salt and pepper based on your taste. Keep stirring until the texture turns to how you like it.
