Peel the potatoes and slice them into thin rounds using a mandoline or sharp knife. Cook them in boiling salty water for 10 minutes, just until they soften slightly. Drain them after cooking.

Whisk the eggs and cream together in a mixing bowl. Add salt, pepper, and nutmeg if using. Cut the Laughing Cow cheese into small pieces.

Heat the oven to 350°F. Grease a springform pan with butter. Layer ingredients starting with potatoes, followed by ham, then cheese. Repeat layers, making sure the final one consists of potatoes.

Pour the egg-cream mixture over the layered ingredients. Sprinkle Swiss cheese on top and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until golden brown on the surface.
