Potato Cake with Ham (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base

01 - 2 cups of cooked ham, diced or sliced thin
02 - 2 pounds of firm potatoes
03 - 8 wedges of Laughing Cow cheese

→ Sauce and Topping

04 - A pinch of optional nutmeg
05 - 1/2 cup of shredded Swiss cheese
06 - Butter to grease the baking pan
07 - Salt and pepper to taste
08 - 2 eggs
09 - 1/3 cup of liquid heavy cream

# Let's Cook:

01 - Peel the potatoes and slice them into thin rounds using a mandoline or sharp knife. Cook them in boiling salty water for 10 minutes, just until they soften slightly. Drain them after cooking.
02 - Whisk the eggs and cream together in a mixing bowl. Add salt, pepper, and nutmeg if using. Cut the Laughing Cow cheese into small pieces.
03 - Heat the oven to 350°F. Grease a springform pan with butter. Layer ingredients starting with potatoes, followed by ham, then cheese. Repeat layers, making sure the final one consists of potatoes.
04 - Pour the egg-cream mixture over the layered ingredients. Sprinkle Swiss cheese on top and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until golden brown on the surface.

# Tips:

01 - Keeps fresh in the fridge for around 2 to 3 days
02 - Can be cooked ahead of time and warmed up later
03 - Pairs nicely with a simple green salad
