Chocolate Bourbon Pie (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1/4 cup water or bourbon.
02 - 1 1/2 cups chopped toasted pecans.
03 - 1/4 cup melted butter.
04 - 4 large eggs.
05 - 1 cup bittersweet chocolate chips.
06 - 1/2 teaspoon fine salt.
07 - 2 teaspoons vanilla essence.
08 - 1/2 package (14.1 oz) of refrigerated pastry dough.
09 - 2 teaspoons white cornmeal.
10 - 1 cup dark corn syrup.
11 - 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar.
12 - 1/2 cup white sugar.

# Instructions:

01 - Place the dough in a 9-inch dish and pinch the edges to shape.
02 - Scatter the pecans over the pastry, then add the chocolate chips.
03 - Heat both sugars with corn syrup in a saucepan. Once boiling, cook with water or bourbon for 3 minutes. In a separate bowl, mix eggs with the remaining ingredients. Slowly pour the hot syrup into the eggs while whisking, then combine everything.
04 - Fill the pastry with the mixture and bake for 55 minutes. Let it sit on a rack for one hour to cool down.
