Lay parchment on two flat baking sheets, then lightly mist them with cooking spray.

Place a bowl over warm, steaming water. Stir caramels and milk together until they're smooth, which should take around 10 minutes.

Turn the heat off and mix in salt and pecans. Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto the baking sheets, forming 30 small piles.

In a clean bowl set over simmering water, melt the chocolate wafers by stirring for 3-5 minutes till smooth.

Coat the caramel piles with melted chocolate using forks. Put them back on the parchment and sprinkle some salt on top, if you like. Chill for 10-15 minutes until they're firm.
