Lemon Glaze Treats (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Cookie Dough

01 - 200 grams (1 1/2 cups plus 2 tablespoons) all-purpose flour
02 - 1 teaspoon baking powder
03 - 1/4 teaspoon salt (use a pinch if using salted butter)
04 - Grated zest from a lemon
05 - 1 large egg
06 - 3 1/4 tablespoons granulated sugar
07 - 1/4 cup butter, melted and cooled
08 - 4 tablespoons of milk (whole or 2%)

→ Lemon Glaze

09 - 1 1/2 to 2 cups powdered sugar
10 - 1 tablespoon milk
11 - 1 tablespoon lemon juice

# Instructions:

01 - Set your oven to 300°F (150°C) and put parchment paper on a big cookie tray.
02 - In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, lemon zest, salt, and baking powder. Make a small well in the center and pour in the egg, milk, and melted butter. Use a fork to lightly combine, then knead on a flat surface until the dough feels soft and smooth.
03 - Shape the dough into thin ropes, about 5-6 inches long. Twist them into a loop or tie knots, then place them on the prepared tray with space between.
04 - Bake for 15 to 18 minutes until their edges lightly brown. Let them cool completely before you glaze.
05 - Whisk together sifted powdered sugar, lemon juice, and milk until smooth and thick. Cover cooled cookies with glaze or sprinkle sugar on top as a finishing touch.

# Notes:

01 - Light olive oil works as a butter substitute
02 - Stays fresh for about a week in a sealed container at room temperature
03 - Dough can be frozen for up to three months
04 - You can bake them at 350°F for 13 minutes instead
