Let 1 cup of milk sit out until it's room temperature.

Heat 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter until melted, then leave it to cool.

Stir together 4 cups of flour with 1 teaspoon of salt till it's evenly mixed.

Mix 2 tablespoons of warm milk with 2 tablespoons of sugar. Sprinkle in the active dry yeast and let it sit for about 10 minutes until it foams up.

Pour the activated yeast, the leftover milk, 2 beaten eggs, and melted butter into the flour mix, and stir it all together until it's combined.

Use a dough hook or your hands to knead until the dough gets smooth and stretchy.

Put the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it, and let it sit for about 2 hours until it doubles in size.

Once risen, gently push the dough down in the bowl, then roll it out on a lightly floured surface until it's roughly 1/2 inch thick.

Use a cutter to make circles of dough and place them on a lightly floured tray. Let them rest for around 20 minutes, so they puff up again.

Pour 2-3 inches of vegetable oil into a big pot and heat it to 180°C. Have the jam-filled piping bag and powdered sugar bowl ready.

When the oil's hot, fry the donuts. Flip them as they cook, and fry till they turn golden all over. Coat them in powdered sugar while they're still warm.

Poke a hole on the side of each donut and use the piping bag to fill them with strawberry jam till it feels full.
