Easy homemade donuts (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 2 eggs
02 - 1 cup (250 ml) sugar
03 - 1 cup (250 ml) milk
04 - 3 tablespoons (45 ml) melted butter
05 - 4 cups (1 L) pastry flour
06 - ½ teaspoon (2.5 ml) ground nutmeg
07 - ½ teaspoon (2.5 ml) vanilla
08 - Vegetable shortening for frying, as needed

# Instructions:

01 - Whisk the eggs and sugar together. Pour in the milk and melted butter. Stir everything until it’s smooth.
02 - Mix in the flour gradually, about 1 cup (250 ml) at a time. Add the nutmeg and vanilla. Stir until you have a silky dough.
03 - Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface. Use a cutter to shape your donuts.
04 - Heat up the shortening for frying. Cook the donuts for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
