Put the ham in a pot and pour enough water to cover it. Turn the heat to medium to boil, then simmer on low for 30 minutes.

Set your oven to 140 °C (275 °F) and make sure a rack is in the middle position.

Drain the ham and insert cloves all over it. Place it in an oven-safe dish, arrange pineapple slices on top, and pour in the pineapple juice and maple syrup.

Bake uncovered for about 90 minutes. Every 30 minutes or so, spoon the syrup and juice mixture over the ham to keep it juicy.
