Peel the apples and chop them into small chunks. Heat 20 g of butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the apple chunks, salt, sugar, and cinnamon. Stir occasionally and cook for about 8-10 minutes until the apples get soft and slightly caramelized. Use a fork to mash them up a bit for a smoother texture.

Either grill the slices of bread in a toaster or heat them in a pan with a dab of butter.

Spread the leftover butter on the toasted bread, then pile on the apple butter. For an indulgent touch, drizzle with honey or serve alongside a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
