French Toast Bake (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 4 tablespoons of butter, unsalted
02 - 1 loaf of Italian or sourdough bread (1 pound)
03 - 8 eggs, large
04 - 3 cups of half-and-half
05 - 3/4 cup of brown sugar, packed light
06 - 1 tablespoon of vanilla
07 - 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, ground
08 - 3/4 teaspoon of kosher salt
09 - 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg, ground
10 - 2 ounces of chopped nuts
11 - 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour
12 - Maple syrup to drizzle on top
13 - Fresh berries to serve alongside

# Instructions:

01 - Spray a 9x13-inch dish lightly with cooking spray
02 - Rip bread into smaller chunks and spread them out in the pan
03 - In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, half-and-half, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg until combined
04 - Pour custard mix all over the bread, gently press it down, cover it up, and chill overnight
05 - Combine nuts, flour, butter, sugar, and spices in a bowl until the texture's crumbly
06 - Sprinkle the crumble topping on top and bake at 350°F for 45-50 minutes, or until golden brown

02 - Needs at least an hour to soak
