Soft cake with egg whites (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Cake Base

01 - 160g of sugar
02 - 80g plain flour
03 - 2 packets of baking powder
04 - 4 egg whites
05 - 80g butter, melted and cooled
06 - A small amount of almond extract (1 teaspoon)
07 - A pinch of salt (optional)

→ Filling

08 - Spread of your choice

# Instructions:

01 - Set your oven to preheat at 165°C
02 - In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and baking powder
03 - Mix in the egg whites, melted butter, and almond extract carefully till the batter is smooth
04 - Pour the mixture into a greased and floured pan. Bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean
05 - Make sure the cake is completely cool before slicing it in half. Add a thick layer of spread between the two layers, then place them back together

# Notes:

01 - Want it softer? Add a tablespoon of milk
02 - Mix in chocolate chips, dried fruits, or grated citrus zest for added flavors
03 - Store it in a cool, dry place for up to 2-3 days
04 - Make it fluffier by whipping the egg whites before adding them
05 - Add powdered sugar on top before serving for extra indulgence
