Easy Monte Cristo (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 4 medium-sized whole eggs
02 - 1.5 teaspoons of Dijon mustard
03 - A dash of nutmeg
04 - Salt and pepper, as needed
05 - 375 ml of low-fat cream
06 - 6 cups of diced stale French bread
07 - 255 g of chopped ham
08 - 180 g of shredded Swiss cheese

# Instructions:

01 - Set the oven to 180°C. Lightly coat the inside of a 20x20 cm or 22x22 cm baking dish with non-stick spray and set it aside.
02 - In a big bowl, whisk together the eggs, cream, mustard, nutmeg, salt, and pepper until well blended.
03 - Toss the bread cubes into the wet mix, making sure they’re completely soaked.
04 - Gently fold in the diced ham and grated Swiss cheese.
05 - Pour the mixture into the greased dish. Pop it in the oven and bake for about 40 minutes, until the top is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
06 - Once baked, take the dish out of the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Slice into portions and, if you’d like, add a dollop of raspberry jam as a side.
