Simple Cookie Icing (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - Food coloring, optional
02 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (clear)
03 - 4 teaspoons light corn syrup
04 - 5-6 tablespoons (75-90ml) milk
05 - 4 cups (480g) powdered sugar

# Instructions:

01 - Mix 5 tablespoons milk, vanilla, powdered sugar, and corn syrup together until you get a smooth blend.
02 - Slowly add small amounts of milk until the icing takes 3-4 seconds to settle back. Set aside 1/3 of it for outlining.
03 - Stir more milk into the leftover icing until it smoothly spreads back in the bowl right away.
04 - Mix in food coloring to both types of icings, if you’d like to add color.
05 - Use the thicker icing to outline your design, then fill inside with the thinned icing. Smooth out using a toothpick.
06 - Leave the cookies untouched for at least 20-24 hours so they completely set before stacking.

# Notes:

01 - Yields about 1 3/4 cups of icing.
02 - This can be stored in the fridge for later.
03 - Corn syrup adds a glossy finish.
