Sweet bread pudding (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main ingredients

01 - 4 cups of dry bread, torn into small 1-inch pieces
02 - 4 cups of warm milk (not piping hot)
03 - 1/2 cup of sugar
04 - 1/4 cup of melted butter
05 - 4 eggs
06 - 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
07 - A pinch of salt
08 - 1/4 cup of raisins (adjust to preference)
09 - 1/2 teaspoon of ground nutmeg

# Instructions:

01 - Butter a 22 x 22 cm pan and spread the bread chunks evenly across it.
02 - Sprinkle raisins evenly over the bread pieces.
03 - Whisk eggs in a bowl. Stir in the vanilla, melted butter, sugar, and salt. Slowly pour in warm milk while stirring, so the eggs don't scramble.
04 - Pour the wet mixture over the bread, then sprinkle nutmeg on top as desired.
05 - Put it in the oven at 180°C (350°F) and bake for about 45 to 60 minutes until the center is set.

# Notes:

01 - Serve it plain or drizzle with maple syrup.
02 - A great way to use up stale bread and whip up a tasty treat.
03 - It may feel a bit wet when it first comes out of the oven but will firm up more as it sits.
