Easy Crockpot Baked Ziti (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 finely chopped onion.
02 - 1 1/2 teaspoons of salt.
03 - 28 ounces of canned diced tomatoes.
04 - 1 pound of ground beef.
05 - 1 teaspoon garlic, minced.
06 - 1 teaspoon of dried parsley.
07 - 650ml jar of pasta sauce (about 2 1/2 cups).
08 - 1 teaspoon dried basil.
09 - 2 cups shredded mozzarella.
10 - 2 1/2 cups chicken broth, low sodium.
11 - 375 grams of penne or ziti pasta.

# Instructions:

01 - Sauté onion and ground beef till browned, then mix in garlic and seasonings. Let it cook briefly.
02 - Pour the meat mixture, tomatoes, pasta sauce, and chicken broth into a slow cooker of at least 4 quarts. Give it a good stir.
03 - Set on low heat for 6 hours or high for 3 hours to let the flavors blend.
04 - Switch to high and stir in the pasta. Let it cook another 15 to 30 minutes.
05 - Sprinkle cheese on top, cover, and wait 3-5 minutes till it melts completely.

01 - Skip browning the meat if short on time.
02 - Feel free to swap ground beef for another ground meat.
03 - The pasta cooks straight in the sauce—no need to pre-boil.
04 - Keep an eye on the pasta after 15 minutes.
