Penne with Peas Bacon (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 1 tablespoon olive oil
02 - 6 thick slices of bacon, thinly sliced
03 - ¾ pound penne pasta
04 - ½ yellow onion, chopped finely
05 - ¼ cup heavy cream
06 - 1 cup frozen peas

# Instructions:

01 - Fill a big pot with water, add salt, and bring it to a rolling boil. Toss in the pasta and, partway through, add peas. Cook until just shy of al dente, following the package's cooking times.
02 - Heat olive oil in a large pan on medium heat. Toss in finely chopped onion and sliced bacon, stirring occasionally, until they're browned and crispy but not too dark.
03 - Once the pasta and peas are ready, drain them and toss them straight into the skillet with the bacon and onions. Reduce to medium heat, stir in the cream, and mix it all to coat evenly. Add more cream if needed.
04 - Dish it out right away while it's still hot. Let everyone top their plates with as much cheese as they love.

# Notes:

01 - Eat it fresh because pasta keeps softening as it sits.
02 - Looks great in wide-rimmed bowls for serving.
03 - As Italians put it, 'The pasta waits for no one, only you wait for it.'
