Cajun Chicken Sandwich (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base

01 - 1 rib celery, diced small
02 - 1/2 green bell pepper, chopped finely
03 - 1 tablespoon of butter
04 - 3 garlic cloves, minced
05 - 1 onion, diced
06 - 3 tablespoons of Cajun spices
07 - 1 pound of ground chicken
08 - 1 tablespoon of oil

→ Sauce

09 - 1/4 teaspoon of salt
10 - 1/2 tablespoon of brown sugar
11 - 1/2 cup of tomato, crushed
12 - 1/2 cup of thick cream
13 - 4 burger buns
14 - 1/2-1 teaspoon of hot sauce, if you want

→ Optional Toppings

15 - Lettuce, shredded up
16 - Cream, sour
17 - Cheese slices
18 - Slaw

# Instructions:

01 - Heat butter and oil together. Cook celery, bell pepper, and onion for around 7 to 8 minutes until they soften.
02 - Toss in the chicken, breaking it up while it cooks for about 5 minutes. Stir in Cajun seasoning and garlic.
03 - Mix in cream, tomatoes, hot sauce, and sugar. Turn the heat down to low.
04 - Let it bubble away for 15 minutes. Don’t forget to stir often and add salt as needed.
05 - Lightly toast the buns. Add the mixture and top with optional extras.

01 - Adjust cooking time to get the sloppy texture you like.
02 - Toast buns last minute so they stay crunchy.
03 - Check your Cajun seasoning salt level to adjust salt in sauce.
