Crab Shrimp Creamy Bisque (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base

01 - 1 small onion, diced finely
02 - 2 minced garlic cloves
03 - 1/4 cup plain flour
04 - 1/4 cup butter, unsalted
05 - 1 cup heavy whipping cream
06 - 4 cups chicken or seafood stock

→ Seafood

07 - 1/2 pound shelled shrimp
08 - 1/2 pound crabmeat, lump

→ Seasonings

09 - Fresh parsley for decoration
10 - Salt and black pepper to your liking

# Instructions:

01 - Heat butter in a big pot over medium heat. Sauté garlic and onion for 3-4 minutes until fragrant and soft.
02 - Dust the cooked veggies with the flour while stirring nonstop. Continue cooking until the mixture turns a nice golden tone, about 2-3 minutes.
03 - Slowly pour in the broth while whisking. Let it simmer for around 5-7 minutes until it thickens. Then stir in the cream and cook another 5 minutes.
04 - Stir in the shrimp and crabmeat. Simmer for 3-4 minutes or until the shrimp become pink.
05 - Taste and season with some salt and pepper. If preferred, blend it for a smoother texture. Top with parsley before serving.

# Notes:

01 - For the best result, use fresh seafood if you can find it.
02 - Adding a little sherry or white wine can boost the flavor.
03 - Make sure the roux is golden to avoid a raw flour taste.
