Slice the onions super thin and cook them with the butter until soft.

Cut the carrot into small rounds and toss it in with the onions. Let them cook together for a few minutes.

Throw in the sausage and bacon. Cook until everything is nicely browned.

Mix in the lentils and pour in the broth. Cover, and let it cook for 25 minutes over medium heat once it starts boiling.

Drain the mixture (save the liquid if you want for soup!). Serve warm and splash on some vinegar to taste if you like.
