Fried Apple Rings (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 4 medium-sized apples (like Gala, Golden Delicious, or Granny Smith).
02 - Coconut oil or veggie oil for frying.
03 - 1 big egg.
04 - 3/4 cup whole or 2% milk.
05 - 1 cup plus a couple of tablespoons flour.
06 - 2 spoons of sugar.
07 - 1 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder.
08 - 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
09 - A dash of vanilla (if you like).
10 - 1/3 cup sugar.
11 - 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder.

# Instructions:

01 - Warm up about an inch of oil in a heavy or cast-iron pan until it hits 365°F.
02 - Cut apples into 1/4-inch slices. Make rings by removing the middle, leaving about a 3/8-inch edge.
03 - Combine cinnamon and 1/3 cup sugar. Put it to the side for later.
04 - Whisk milk with the egg. Stir in the dry stuff until it's blended well.
05 - Coat each apple ring with batter. Fry for 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown. Use paper towels to drain and sprinkle with the cinnamon sugar mix while they're still warm.

# Notes:

01 - Choose apples good for baking.
02 - Using pancake mix is an option.
03 - Keep the apple pieces you core out.
04 - Make sure the oil is at the right temp.
05 - Tastes great for a next-day breakfast.
06 - Try some quick hacks if you're short on time.
