# Ingredients:

→ Cake Batter

01 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
02 - 2 large eggs, room temperature
03 - 235ml (1 cup) whole milk, room temperature
04 - 1 teaspoon salt
05 - 2 teaspoons baking powder
06 - 85g (3/4 cup) unsweetened cocoa powder
07 - 180g (1 1/2 cups) granulated sugar
08 - 315g (2 3/4 cups) all-purpose flour

→ Ganache

09 - 235ml (1 cup) heavy cream
10 - 200g (1 cup) semisweet chocolate chips

→ Whipped Cream and Garnish

11 - Chocolate shavings or chopped nuts for topping
12 - 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
13 - 235ml (1 cup) heavy cream

# Instructions:

01 - Set the oven to 180°C (350°F) to preheat. Coat three 9-inch round cake pans with grease and a dusting of flour.
02 - Combine cocoa powder, flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder in a big mixing bowl. Pour in the eggs, milk, and vanilla, then mix until the batter is smooth.
03 - Evenly pour the batter into the three prepared pans.
04 - Place the pans into the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes. Check if they're done by inserting a toothpick—if it comes out clean, they're ready.
05 - Take the cakes out of the oven. Keep them in the pans for 10 minutes to rest, then carefully move them to a wire rack to cool completely.
06 - Over gentle heat in a double boiler, melt the chocolate chips. Mix in the heavy cream until it turns into a smooth, shiny ganache.
07 - Put one cake layer onto a plate. Spread a layer of ganache on top, then whipped cream. Do this for all layers.
08 - Finish with whipped cream on the top layer and sprinkle the chocolate shavings or nuts as garnish.
