Pepper Chicken Mushrooms (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Chicken

01 - 2 chicken breasts, trimmed of skin and cut thin
02 - 1 teaspoon of salt
03 - 1 tablespoon cornstarch
04 - 1/2 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper

→ Vegetables

05 - 3 garlic cloves, minced small
06 - 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
07 - 8 ounces of sliced mushrooms, your choice of button or shiitake
08 - 1 chopped red or green bell pepper
09 - 2 green onions, finely sliced (optional for decoration)

→ Sauce

10 - 1 tablespoon soy sauce
11 - 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
12 - 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
13 - 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
14 - 1 teaspoon honey
15 - 2 tablespoons cooking oil, divided into two parts

# Instructions:

01 - Mix up the chicken slices with cornstarch, salt, and black pepper until the pieces are coated well.
02 - Heat a large pan over medium-high heat, adding 1 tablespoon oil. Stir the chicken around for 4-5 minutes until browned, then remove it from the pan.
03 - Blend together oyster sauce, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, and some black pepper until smooth.
04 - Use the pan and leftover oil to fry onion and bell pepper for about 2 minutes. Toss in mushrooms and garlic, cooking another 2-3 minutes.
05 - Add the chicken back in and pour the sauce over everything. Stir to mix for a minute or two until heated through.
06 - Sprinkle on some green onions if you'd like, then dish it up with noodles or steamy rice while hot.
